Aseem's Bike-riding

Manisha said at the beginning of summer that Aseem was going to learn to ride a bike this year - and that has indeed come to pass. Aseem has been riding his little bike with training wheels for a while now. The last week he started asking me to take the training wheels off. Yesterday we finally got the chance to do it and we took them off. We went to the playground with the bike, and within a few tries he was riding free! He needed me to hold the bike steady so that he could start pedalling with both feet. But after the first fifteen minutes or so he was completely on his own. He could get started on his own and stop on his own as well. It of course helps that his feet reach the ground.

This is just another of Aseem-special "step-functions" we have come to expect. As with a duck peddling furiously under water, we don't see anything going on on the surface, and then suddenly he leaps to another level.

Junior Bowman Supriya

Last week Supriya participated in the Junior Olympic Archery Summer Camp and earned her Junior Bowman certificate. The guy who taught the course turned out to be a member of SCA! Supriya had a great time shooting arrows, and now she wants to do more. Hopefully we will be able to do more after our move to Camelot with the help of all our SCA neighbors...
